A logo, also known as "logotype", is a graphic symbol that, by virtue of its design and form, serves to identify a product, service, or company. There are different kinds of logos. When constituted typographically, a logo may consist of abreviated caps that stand for a company or product name, or a whole word or words, as in the name of a product, in a typographic or lettering style, often a script. As such, it can magnetically convey a product or brand image. A logo can also be composed of a non typographic image - either a tangeable, recogniseable image, or an abstract design, combined with the name of the product or company in type. Such an image can eventually even stand alone for the name associated with it, having gained regognition in the public market over time. Sometimes, both typographic and image elements may be combined or blended in a logo, as when a custom script and image art are designed to fit together. Ideally, a logo captures something of the essence, indicating the quality and value of that which it represents. On this page, I have tried to display designs of mine that fall into each category mentioned above.
